Choosing Your Dayhome

We know finding a trustworthy dayhome can be difficult. Our dayhomes have all been through a screening process including police checks, with vulnerable sector. ECCA also conducts training sessions and workshops for all of our Educators.

But even with all that how can you choose?

We have put together a simple list to make choosing your perfect dayhome easier.
What To Ask When Choosing A Dayhome
-
What are their methods of discipline? What is their philosophy?

-
What kind of experience do the Educators have?

-
Ask about their food menus. (If any dietary restrictions, be sure to ask the Educator and come to an agreement.) Check out Canada's Food Guidelines for more information on healthy eating.

-
Check out the space and see if it fits your needs.

-
Ask about their program: Montessori, Reggio, Learn Through Play, Waldorf, etc. Be sure to also ask about things such as outdoor time, field trips, and art programs.

-
Does the dayhome provide transportation for the children? And if the children are taken off the premises, how will they be transported?
Find a dayhome that checks off your wish list, apply, and watch your child thrive!
